4 activities designed to get to know FSAA better
Are you a teacher, guidance counselor or group leader?
We offer students at the secondary and collegial levels free activities to inform them about the range of careers that are made possible through programs at the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences. Whether it is a presentation, a workshop, testimonials or a visit, we can help you create a customized activity for you according to your needs.
Do you want to know what the food sciences and food engineering are all about?
Would you like to visit a food processing, nutrition or animal science laboratory?
We offer schools, classes and camps the possibility to visit our laboratories and facilities. Depending on your needs, we can include interactive workshops with your visit. All visits are free of charge.
Contact us if you are interested in a visit.
Want to talk to a student to find out what it’s really like?
Do you have questions about student life?
The Committee of Student Ambassadors is here for you. The Committee is made up of undergraduate students from all our programs. The ambassador’s role is to represent the FSAA and its programs.
They can meet with you one-on-one, or with a FSAA representative, to discuss their academic background, involvement in their field of study and their experience as a FSAA student at Université Laval.
Ambassadors can facilitate workshops or tours that focus on knowledge and skills covered in their field of study. They are also willing to meet, by request, with prospective students who want to speak directly to a student for more information “from the frontlines” and to find out "what it’s like to study at the FSAA."

Choosing Your Path
Agri-Food
Students are encouraged to discuss the trends and challenges facing our society in terms of food: the mission, tasks and challenges of future agri-food professionals and in the bio-food sector; the use of science in agri-food as well as Quebec's labor market needs in this field. The conference will also provide your students with valuable information about campus life and the programs offered by the Faculty of Agriculture and Food which are:
- agricultural economics;
- agronomy;
- agroenvironmental engineering;
- food engineering;
- food science and technology;
- nutrition;
- consumer sciences.
Environment
Agri-food is one of the many areas in which environmental professionals can work. It is for this reason that the FSAA, together with the Faculty of Science and Engineering (WISE) and the Faculty of Forestry, Geography and Geomatics (FFGG) have prepared a conference to demystify the various environmental careers related to science and engineering. This dynamic presentation sheds light on the reality of working with the environment in Quebec.
Consumer sciences
Through this presentation, you will discover a multitude of careers and professions available to you though the Bachelor of Consumer Sciences program, notably via testimonials gathered from former graduates. You will be introduced to the curriculum, course choices, requirements, courses, internships, profiles, study abroad options, DEC-BAC agreements and avenues and so on, all while making the comparison to related Université Laval programs (marketing, communications, retail).
Agricultural economics
A very little-known profession, the agricultural economist is very important to the agri-food world. This multidisciplinary professional gets involved in the food chain from beginning to end, through his/her knowledge in: management and business development; marketing and agri-food product sales; and agricultural policies.
