Groupe interdisciplinaire de recherche en agroforesterie (GIRAF)

Agroforestry at the heart of GIRAF

The Groupe interdisciplinaire de recherche en agroforesterie (GIRAF) brings together professors and researchers, from diverse disciplines, that have worked in the agroforestry field for many years. By adopting an interdisciplinary approach, GIRAF focuses its activities on a variety of issues that come up in agroforestry practices. With involvement from members with experience in a wide array of fields including agronomy, forest science, biology, geography, sociology, anthropology and rural economics, GIRAF can tackle ecological and technical questions related to agroforestry while addressing social, cultural, economic and political dimensions.
The Groupe interdisciplinaire de recherche en agroforesterie focuses on two main axes:

  • Agroforestry in tropical and subtropical environments
  • Agroforestry in temperate environments
