Find your program of study and learn about its admission requirement
On your program's page, read the tab "Admission conditions" to learn about the admission requirements.
Identify your research supervisor
This step must be completed for students wishing to complete a master's degree with a thesis or a doctoral degree, except for the master's and doctoral degrees in agricultural economics. The master's degree with an essay does not require a research supervisor.
Making initial contact with professors in your chosen field of study in order to find a research supervisor is your responsibility. It’s a good idea to select subjects that interest you, then find out more about research groups and chairs at the University, professors’ research interests, and projects that are recruiting new students.
This directory lists the research projects and expertise of professors currently recruiting master’s and doctoral students for their teams. Explore offers by faculty, program, or student profile.
Note: This step is essential to your admission and to proceed to step 3.
If you have found your research supervisor, you can complete this step.
- Official attestation of diplomas obtained
- Transcript (university and preparatory courses)
- Cover letter (if necessary)
- 3 letters of recommendation (if necessary)
Applicants to a PhD program must complete and send their letters of recommendation from 3 different professors or employers.
Letters of recommendation for master’s programs are only required if specified in the program description.

Once you have clicked on the button "Admission application," you will be redirected to the Capsule site where you must create your student account. By following these steps, you will be able to apply for admission to your program.

Once you have received an admission offer and you have accepted it, you will be able to register. At this stage, you will receive an email from the registrar's office, explaining the procedure.

You are at the last step. You will receive an email from the Bureau du Registraire with the process.
You must have your:
- Québec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ) for studies -online application form
- Study permits –Application to Study in Canada
- Visa, if neccessary –Find out if you need a visa
- If you need a visa,apply – Visit Canada as a tourist
- Health and hospitalization insurance –registration
